Dance Parties are breaking out all over Kalamazoo, Michigan. It’s like the NYC underground disco scene,1973. It seems like all the old WIDR “DJs” have their own turntables and mixers. Kazoo people, bored out of their nuts, get freaky on the floor.
The above photo shows how they shake it in this town: with high-energy spasticity.
Mr. Guano knows how to make the kids move with just the right cuts from hit-makers like the Art of Noise, ELO, Gary Glitter and the Bay City Rollers. He was a disk jockey at this party in the photo, thrown at The Strutt just days after the SwaG! broadcast linked to below. The people above might be dancing to Mr Guano’s platters, or they might be dancing to other disk jockeys’ selections. Looks like a bunch of “Beat Box” moves to us!
We hear none of that stuff in this episode, but it’s got that SwaG! Dance Party groove -- until Mr. Guano starts talking about Glen Beck, then attempts to cry on air. But just ignore that part.
SwaG! broadcast of March 18, 2009.
